Our Values
Dialogue
Focolare Media is dedicated to dialogue in various fields: in the Catholic Church, among the different Churches, among faith traditions, with people not affiliated with any religion, and with the contemporary culture.
Unity in diversity
Focolare Media wants to give an opportunity for different viewpoints to be presented in a respectful manner, trying to seek common ground.
Advocate for the poor and vulnerable
Focolare Media features content that points out how Jesus’ prayer “that all may be one” includes everyone, and so we call attention to instances of injustice, discrimination, exclusion and to the ecological crisis of our planet.
Focus on relationships
Focolare Media wants to offer material that helps to love God and our neighbors ever more and that focuses on building fulfilling relationships, rooted in a spirituality of communion.
Gospel-centered
Focolare Media publishes content that is rooted in the values that Jesus proclaims in the Gospel or that derive from them.

About New City Press
New City Press was created in 1967. From the very beginning, its first purpose has been to publish and promote books that encourage greater unity in the world. This calling for unity reflects our connection to the Focolare, a movement founded by Chiara Lubich to help bring about the realization of Jesus’ prayer: “That all may be one” (John 17:21). In view of that goal, New City Press publishes books and resources that enrich the lives of people and help all to strive toward the unity of the entire human family.
About the Focolare Movement
Focolare is an ecclesial movement for spiritual and social renewal. Officially known as the “Work of Mary,” it was founded in Trent, Italy in 1943 by Chiara Lubich and her closest friends, and approved by the Catholic Church in 1962. The movement has now reached 183 countries, and more than 2 million people share closely in the life of the movement and its work. Inspired by Jesus’ prayer, “May they all be one” (Jn 17:21), Focolare features a spirituality of unity, which has become a lifestyle for people of all ages and backgrounds. It transforms their lives and relationships, and by extension positively influences the social and ecclesial contexts where they live and work.
