Tom Masters holds a bachelor's degree in English and Philosophy from Lewis University, a master's in English Literature from DePaul University, and a Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Rhetoric from the University of Illinois Chicago. After a career teaching in secondary schools and in college, he now works as an author and as editorial director and member of the Board of Directors for New City Press. He participates in the Focolare's academic study group, the "Abba School," and is an editor for Claritas: Journal of Dialogue and Culture. He lives outside of Chicago with his wife Kathleen. They have three adult children.
